In 1912, Bernhard Hermann founded his family business in Sonneberg, which he named "BE HA" after his initials, and began producing teddy bears and dolls. In 1948, he and his sons moved the company to Hirschaid near Bamberg, the current headquarters of the company. This was where the company's true rise to become one of the most renowned in the industry began, and the company name became Teddy-Plüschspielwarenfabrik Gebr.Hermann KG, with the founder's three sons as managing partners.
